This 15 days safari in Uganda will take you to Murchison Falls for hiking to the top of the falls and wildlife viewing, Kibale forest for Chimp tracking and Bigodi walk, Queen Elizabeth where you will enjoy game viewing and also Climbing lions in Ishasha, Bwindi Impenetrable forest to trek Mountain Gorillas, Lake Bunyonyi for sightseeing, Lake Mburo National park, and end with Jinja for rafting.

 

Itinerary

Day 1Travel to Murchison Falls National Park

Our driver guide will Pick you up from the Hotel in Kampala or Entebbe in the morning after breakfast and transfer you to Murchison falls through the Luwero triangle. On the way, visit Ziwa rhino sanctuary where you will track rhinos and have lunch in Masindi. Proceed to the park, After head to the lodge, have super and an overnight.

Day 2Murchison Falls National Park – Game drives & Boat cruises

After an early morning breakfast, you will embark on a game drive at the delta and expect to see variety of animals including elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda kobs, Oribis and waterbucks. After the drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon go for a boat cruise along the Nile which will give you an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. You will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfisher, cormorants and bee-eater.
You will then hike up to find the falls through Bakers trail and also be able to stand at bakers stone (brings you closer to the bottom of the falls) this hike is a bit tuff but it’s fascinating as you will enjoy to see the falls at different points and finally when you reach at the top of the falls, you will be amazed and eventually forget about the tuff hike. After spending a good time at the top of the falls, you will meet your driver who will transfer you back to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at as above

Day 3Transfer to Kibale Forest

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive out of the park to embark on a full day transfer to Kibale national park via Hoima, fort portal with lunch enroute. Arrive in the park late evening and check-in your lodge for a restful evening, dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4Kibale Forest Chimpanzee tracking Uganda safari

After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, connect to Kibale forest for your chimpanzee tracking experience with your packed snacks and water. You will first report at the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the forest for the activity. During your tracking, expect to see a lot of primate species like chimpanzees, monkeys and other animals like the forest elephants, buffaloes, bush pig and duiker, warthogs, reptiles as well as a colorful variety of butterflies. Return to the Lodge for lunch and a short relaxation.
After in the evening. Prepare for a walk through the Bigodi wetland where you are expected to see birds, baboons, bush babies among other wildlife species. Have dinner and Overnight.

Day 5Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

On this day, have a normal morning breakfast. After, drive and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, this park is just 3 hours drive away from Kibale National Park. Arrive at the park and check in to the lodge and have lunch. After lunch, prepare for a visit to katwe salt lake and bird watching.
Katwe salt lake is a crater lake situated inside Queen Elizabeth national park, an internationally important area of savannah that is home to a wide range of species. Several streams drain into the lake, but it has no outlet, so intense evaporation during the dry seasons leads to the water becoming extremely salty
The katwe salt lake tour gives our visitors a unique insight into the fascinating yet tough process of salt mining, as well as providing an alternative income for katwe local communities. Visitors also pass the nearby bird sanctuary Lake, home to thousands of birds including flamingoes from October to May.
After the visit, head back to lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6Game drive & Boat cruise – Queen Elizabeth Park

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will set out for the morning game drive in search for early risers in the Kasenyi area. The park has diverse Eco-system of grassy plains, rivers, crater lakes, forests, swamps and lakes. These are a home to various types of wildlife (big 4) and a game drive in Queen Elizabeth will reward you with views of animals such as lions, leopards, forest hogs, buffalos, elephants, waterbuck, Uganda Kob and other types of antelopes.
Return to your Lodge for lunch and after, go for a 2 hours launch / boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This cruise will let you pass through a place of the highest concentration of hippos, crocodiles and you may also see many animals drinking at the water’s edge. The cruise also offers good platform for photography, bird watching and games. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 7Game drive & transfer to Ishasha sector

Waking up so early and set out again for the game drive to see these animals in their distinctive clans, families and groups, this game drive can be taken through the Kasenyi plains looking out for elephants, leopards, buffaloes, waterbucks, and various colorful birds.
Later, take a 2 hours drive to Ishasha which is a home to tree-climbing lions. With the help of skilled park rangers you will also such out for these lions and imagine how amazing it is to watch the lions in trees. Thereafter, check in to the lodge and Have lunch at the lodge.

Day 8Transfer to Bwindi Forest national park

On this day, you begin your journey to Bwindi the habitat of gentle giants Mountain gorillas. This journey will take you through Kigezi highlands and its various terraced hills. Have Lunch enroute, Arrive in bwindi national park check in to your lodge and then later have a guided nature walk, have dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge of your choice.

Day 9Mountain Gorilla tracking safari

Talk of gentle giants with a 98% DNA close to that of humans, it’s the Mountain gorillas which made Bwindi Forest their home. Also other species like butterflies, plants, primates, mammals, butterflies, frogs, among others are also found here. After briefing at the headquarters, you will be led by the rangers into the jungle to track gorillas. This experience usually takes 1 hour to about 8 hours since gorillas move differently also and only 1 hour is granted to capture your greatest moments with the gorillas.
Just in case some of you are not interested in tracking gorillas, you can go for a short guided forest walk or Village walk to the Batwa community. Retire at the lodge.

Day 10Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

Enjoy breakfast and drive to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africas deepest lakes and famous for its beautiful scenery such as the terraced hills and 29 islands in water, it is also safe for swimming since it is Bilharzia free. Its name Bunyonyi means young birds in the local language and hence is a great place for bird watching. Also while here you are in the base that was named by a British’s great diplomat Winston Churchill as the Switzerland of Africa. Upon arrival you could go for canoeing on the lake and have lunch. After lunch take a community walk where you will enjoy traditional dances from the Bakiga people, also buy yourself handicrafts from there.

Day 11Lake Bunyonyi

Take your breakfast having amazing views from surrounding hills, forests and the beautiful rays of the morning sun. After head out for a canoe ride on the lake which harbors 29 islands and almost every island with a history such as the Punishment Island – enjoy the stories from the guides on this boat ride.
Return to the lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon, take a walk, or hike up the hills to enjoy more spectacular views of forests and lakes, or watch birds, or read a book while relaxing by the lake shores, or swim in the lake which is Bilharzia free and safe for swimming.

Day 12Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park- Home of Zebras

Early morning after breakfast transfer to Lake Mburo, a small but rich National park seated on an area of 371 sq km. Lake Mburo National Park is home to a big number of Zebras, antelopes, warthogs, reed bucks, oribis and a number of bird species. On your way, you will go through the rolling terraced hills of Kabale, having a stopover in Mbarara for lunch -The land of milk and honey. After, continue reaching the park in the late afternoon. Have a 2 hour boat cruise on the lake and later have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 13Drive to Kampala

Enjoy an early breakfast, after do a game drive as you continue to Kampala, have a stop at the Equator line; take photos and also buy some souvenirs from craft shop. Enjoy lunch still at the Equator or in Kampala depending on the time you arrive there.
After lunch drive to Jinja located in the East of Uganda and the home of the source of the Nile River. Arrive in the evening and have dinner and take a rest at the lodge/hotel of your choice.

Day 14White water rafting & discovering the Nile

Have an early breakfast and head out for today’s activities. The Nile River finds its source in Jinja where it starts the 4000 km through different African countries. So your driver will take you to where the beginning point is as you go for discovering the Source of the Nile; you will go for a guided boat cruise on the Nile.
After the boat, go for half day rafting on the rapids which is an adventure and an unforgettable experience. Have lunch and after you could choose to rest at the lodge on the swimming pool or go for optional activities like bungee jumping or kayaking or quad biking or Horse riding dinner and overnight at the lodge as above.

Day 15Return to Kampala the Entebbe International Airport

Take breakfast leave Jinja for Kampala buy some souvenirs to take home with you. If you have a flight on the same day your guide will transfer you to Entebbe as you bid farewell to Uganda
